ABOUT ME

  • I can code in Java, C#, Python, Rust, Bash and Scala and PHP with varying degree of expertise.
  • I strongly prefer statically-typed languages though.
  • I know OOP. I've read Gang of Four book on design patterns. I've even read Wikipedia page for SOLID once.
  • Got a lot of experience building Big Data ETL pipelines.
    In layman's terms - writing programs that can copy data from your DB of choice to Hadoop (Hive/Solr/Hbase) and/or back, doing cleanup and indexing along the way. Usually on schedule controlled by something like Oozie or AutoSys or cron.
  • I'm also game developer, go to SolarSuit website to know more about stuff that I've contributed to in that role.
  • I daily drive Linux, and quite familar with Linux-based systems.
  • I have some Docker and Kubernetes experience, I've used Docker and Podman to run self-hosted stuff, I've used Kubernetes at work. I can write Docker compose configs and Helm charts.
  • Kanban boards are cool.
  • TDD sounds good in theory. But writing tests before writing code assumes that you already have required domain knowledge on how resuting system should work, which is ofthen not the case.
  • I've read the Agile Manifesto. It postulates that individuals and interactions are more important than processes and tools, but somehow agile is always implemented as a set of ceremonies(processes) backed by some tool(be that Jira or Clickup)
